Heal Spines, Empower Lives. Learn Sumit Manav's Proven Method
Stop Guessing, Start Healing: Why This Course Exists:
If you have ever had a student with a herniated disc, chronic lower back pain, or a postural condition — and quietly wondered whether you were doing the right thing — this course was built for you.
Most yoga teachers are trained in sequencing, not in spines. The gap between what foundational training teaches and what your students actually bring to the mat is where doubt lives. And doubt is exhausting.
Spine & Functional Strength Yoga gives you the anatomy, the biomechanics, and the clinical insight to close that gap permanently — so you can teach every student in the room with complete confidence, not just the healthy ones.
Meet Your Mentor: Sumit Manav
Sumit Manav began practising yoga in 1998 at the age of 18 — travelling from his hometown in Uttar Pradesh to the Himalayas. In the tradition that gave the discipline to the world.
Over the next 25 years, that foundation expanded into something rare: a practice that bridges classical Indian yoga with modern anatomy, biomechanics, and functional movement science. Sumit has worked with hundreds of patients with chronic spinal conditions — many of whom had been told that surgery was their only option. It was not.
Today he leads Lifestyle Yoga World at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, and has delivered corporate wellness programmes for Emirates, PepsiCo, Emaar, and Fairmont, among others. He is recognised as one of India’s top 10 yoga teachers and holds a postgraduate diploma from DSVV Haridwar alongside BKS Iyengar credentials.
When you enrol in this certification, you are not learning a curriculum. You are learning the method Sumit has refined across 25 years of clinical practice — the same method that has kept hundreds of spines out of the operating theatre.
This is more than a certification. It is a mentorship in spine longevity.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced yoga practitioner, this course is for you. Join us today and start your journey.
Unlock Advanced Expertise: What You Will Master
Safe, evidence-based spinal sequencing Know exactly which poses load, decompress, rotate, and stabilise each segment of the spine — and how to sequence safely for disc herniations, scoliosis, stenosis, and hypermobility.
Spinal anatomy and biomechanics in depth Move beyond 200-hour anatomy into real clinical understanding — discs, posterior chain, segmental movement — so you can read a spine in the room, in real time.
Functional strength integrated into yoga Apply resistance, load, and progressive overload within a yoga context to build the kind of spinal strength that protects students for decades, not just the length of the class.
Fascia, core stability, and breathwork Learn how the fascial network connects the spine to the whole body — and how breathwork and myofascial techniques reach what traditional asana alone cannot.
Postural assessment and therapeutic correction Build the clinical eye to spot compensation patterns before they become injuries — and adapt your teaching in real time for every student in the room.
Nervous system regulation for pain management Chronic back pain is a nervous system problem as much as a structural one. Master the breathwork and Yoga Nidra techniques that reduce pain perception and create the conditions for real healing.

Common questions
Everything you need to know
before you enrol.
Still deciding? These are the questions we hear most from yoga teachers, physiotherapists, and wellness professionals before they book their place.
-
A foundational yoga qualification is recommended — ideally a 200-hour YTT or equivalent. The course is designed for practising yoga teachers, physiotherapists, personal trainers, and wellness professionals who already work with clients and want to specialise in spinal health. If you are a movement professional without a yoga background, some familiarity with basic postures is helpful but not mandatory. Complete beginners to teaching would benefit more from a foundational YTT first.
-
Yes. This is a Yoga Alliance accredited specialty course worth 20 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours. The certification is recognised internationally and can be added to your existing Yoga Alliance profile anywhere in the world — making it valuable whether you teach in Dubai, London, or anywhere else. It also counts toward your annual CPD requirements as a registered Yoga Alliance teacher.
-
The course is hybrid. You complete 5 hours of online self-paced pre-learning modules before the weekend — covering foundational spinal anatomy and functional strength science — so that both in-person days are focused entirely on hands-on application. The 15-hour in-person intensive runs over a weekend at Lifestyle Yoga World Studio, Shangri-La Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. No Zoom sessions, no compromise on contact time with Sumit.
-
Both days build on each other and full weekend attendance is required to receive the certification. If an unforeseen emergency arises, please contact us as early as possible — WhatsApp +971 56 624 1002 — and we will do our best to accommodate you in a future cohort.
-
Each cohort is kept deliberately small. For a spine-focused certification, hands-on correction and personalised feedback from Sumit are not a luxury — they are the point. Small group sizes ensure every participant receives the individual attention that makes this training genuinely safe and genuinely effective. Places are strictly limited and early enrolment is strongly recommended.

Please reach out to us directly and we will do our best to accommodate your situation. WhatsApp Sumit on +971 56 624 1002 or email info@lifestyleyogaworld.com — we prefer a conversation over a form.
-
Yes — both a physical certificate and a digital version upon successful completion. Your 20 Yoga Alliance CPD hours can also be logged directly to your registered teacher profile. The certification ceremony takes place at the close of Day 2 of the in-person weekend.
-
Absolutely — and some of the most enthusiastic participants in previous cohorts have been physiotherapists, personal trainers, and wellness coaches. The course bridges clinical movement science and yogic wisdom, making it directly relevant for any movement professional working with spinal health and chronic pain. Ahmed, one of our past participants and a practising physiotherapist, described it as "the scientific rigour and functional application I had been looking for — Sumit brilliantly bridges the gap between clinical practice and yogic wisdom."
